Utilization and rehabilitation of sodic soils through biological means.
 
 
Objectives
  
  • Screening of sodicity tolerance in spice crops of economic importance.
  • To standardize agrotechniques including fertilizer requirement of spice crops grown in sodic soils.
  • Evaluation of elite line/variety of species in sodic soil under field conditions.
  • To monitor value addtion by way of quality of product ( Volatile oil) of spice crops grown in sodic soils.
  • S&T services for analysis of soils and plant samples.
 
Achievements
  
  • A process for trans-anethole rich fennel is available for sale.
  • Germ plasm of important sodic tolerant spice crops is available for growing.
  • Standardized agro-technology for cultivation of spice crops in sodic stress soil.
