Information & communication technology (ICT) cell is looking after the CSIR-NBRI LAN (Local area network ), continuously updating and management of NBRI website (www.nbri.res.in) ,development of database for NBPB New Delhi , database for NBRI Herbarium and Botanic garden & Stores & Purchase software etc. 4 Mbps (1:1) radio link from Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) , Lucknow for Institutional Internet , installation and management of domain server using active directory for local & public domain, unified threat management device (Cyberoam 250i ) for security of our network and data , installation and management of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.6 antivirus for servers and desktop PCs, Network Attached Storage (NAS) server , installation and management of library software(LibSys) /hardware /networking /security devices, etc as per institutional requirment.

Databases were designed and developed using software Microsoft visual studio 2005 and database SQL server 2005/2008 and MS access.Problem associated with hardware, software LAN, troubleshooting of Server, Desktop PC, LAN etc were managed by ICT for smooth functioning of LAN, PCs and servers etc.
